Comments:   My father was born in Pacentro on December 25, 1893. He emigrated to the US in 1910. His faither's name was Carmine Silvestri and his mother's name was Pasqua Roncone. I am trying to find information relating to Carmine and Pasqua. Right now I am actually in Pacentro and have visited the "town hall" and left information with them and hopefully will hear from them when I get back to the US. Is there any other way to find out information?

Se hai vecchie foto o vecchie pellicole 8 mm e super8, ti preghiamo di contattarci. Troveremo la maniera migliore per farci pervenire il tuo materiale. My great grandmother and great grandfather lived in Pacentro, and I'd like to buy a place there to live someday myself. If anyone knows Anna, a wonderful lady who was shooting photos for a magazine, and was very helpful to my son, I'd like to contact her. Comments:   Buon Giorno We had the “best” vacation ever. The essence of Pacentro, the Mountains, the Village, CALDORA Castle and tu (our cuginos) made us feel welcomed and loved. From the 1st meal at Taverna dei Caldora to our last at family homes we loved every course--- freshest Pasta, fruits (figs), Cheeses and Vinos we have ever MANGIA. My bambinos will never forget the food, family tour of the Caparso Old Home #10, Mt ride to Pescara, nights at the Piazza. We were proud watching and cheering for our cugino in the Zingari race down the mountain, and my children enjoyed playing with their cuginos. We’ll be back in two years; the relaxing, stress-free aura of Pacentro was a needed therapy for me. This trip was more amazing than we could have ever anticipated – we enjoyed each and every moment, and have memories that will always be treasured.

Name: Michael Agostinelli - May 25, 2005
E-mail: Mike42257@aol.com
Comments:   Hi Everyone - I am looking for any information on Silvio (Silvano) Agostinelli. He was born in 1890 in Mondolfo Pesaro, Italy, son of Paolo e Emma Turatti, daughter of Alessendro. He arrived in the United States (Ellis Island), on February 8th, 1909 on a ship named the Barbarossa. He passed away in March 10, 1947, and is buried at St. Tarcisius Cemetary in Framingham, Mass. He Married Mary Italia Borelli some years later. I am guessing between 1921 - 1924. Mary italia Borell was born on Sept. 23, 1903 ( not sure where), and passed away on Feb. 26, 1994 in Framingham, Mass. She arrived in the United States when she was 8 yrs old, on May 14, 1912, on a ship named the Canada. The ship departed from Naples, Campania Italy. Her place of residence was Ineupioia, italy at that time. Children from the marriage Silvio (Silvano) Agostinelli, and Mary Italia Borelli are: Julio (my father), Geno, Rudolph, Ernest, Raymond, and Rita. Mary Italia Borelli was the daughter of Venanzio Borelli and Rose Fazio (not positive o n this name). My late father, Ray Bashforth, was an English soldier who escaped from Sulmona prison camp during the 1939-45 war. While on the run a family called Avolio helped him and his friends. In an account he gave he remembers a Maria who used to bring food to a cave where they were hiding, and a brother Giovanni who helped them get away. He always remembered their kindness and bravery. Comments:   Buon Giorno, My new novel, entitled "Powers of Fate," is scheduled for release in the late spring of 2002. It is the poignant story of an Italian-American GI from Detroit who is sent to Italy during World War II. Stationed in Napoli, he meets a beautiful girl, whom he marries. This story provides an intimate look into the often heart-breaking experience of the European war bride. Set in the period between 1930 and 1945, the novel is rich with colorful characters and Italian tradition. The GI and the Italian girl we re my father and mother, and this is their remarkable story. I am proud to be an pure-blooded Italian and my novel is a tribute to the thousands of men and women of that era who made the same difficult decision. I will post the official release date here as soon as my publisher schedules it. In the meantime, anyone interested in knowing more about it may email me and I will be happy to answer any questions on the book and its availability. Regards, Mono D'Angelo

Comments:   Just happened to be surfing the net and came across this web site. It is a real pleasure to see so many names of families that I vaguely remember from my youth in Pacentro. We immigrated to Canada in 1955 when I was 7 years of age. One of my interests is doing research on the many Pacentrani who lived and worked in southern Colorado before WW1. It seems that there were a large number of Pacentrani (my great grandfather Pasquale Fabiilli included) men there. On a visit to the old mining town of Tobasco near Pueblo Colorado in 1982, I was very surprised at the number of people of Italian origin in the area who didn't speak a single word of Italian. Let us hope that we Pacentrani who immigrated later do a better job of inculcating our youth to our great Italian and Pacentrano heritage.

We called Donato back in Venezuela from the public phone at the piazza just in time for him to hear the churchbells strike noon. He loved it! We hope to go back soon!

Comments:   Hi to all the wonderful people from Pacentro. My father and his parents came from Pacentro, Italy and settled in upstate New York. My brothers and I have been researching our ancestors for years. We actually traveled to Pacentro in 1989 together. A beautiful little town. Are you aware of any other Marchionda's in Pacentro. We found none. Happy Holidays and God Bless. Larry Marchionda

Comments:   On Saturday Nov 6 our pilgrimage group visited Pacentro, and our pilgrimage leader offered noontime Mass for us in the beautiful church. Afterward, we had a terrific meal in a local restaurant, attended by Don Guiseppi, the Mayor, and several relatives and friends of one of our travelers. Pacentro will always have a warm spot in the hearts of my family. Bene pacem!

Comments:   Ciao a tutti. I just got back from Pacentro yesterday (11-13-99) and as usual the water and food were wonderful. I was fortunate enough to be there during the festival di San Carlo. I dressed up in the "vestito di San Carlo" along with my cousin Francesco Terracciano, who helped to organize the festivities this year, and his father my uncle Mauro Terracciano. I hope to see everyone here in the Detroit area on July 2nd as i will be attending the reunion. Ci vediamo.

Comments:   This is the first time I visit this website and I like it very much. I would like our club to spread the word about the site ("Un mese in Pacentro" would be a good avenue)and invite all the Pacentrani around the world to leave a message and their e-mail address, if they have one. This could lead to the compilation of a list or address book with all these e-mail addresses. Just think how such a list could help old friends and compaesani start cpmmunicating with each other again after many years! I believe that this is something that could be done very easily. Congratulations again for a very nice job.

Comments:   Hi everyone, I have been researching my Pacentro ancesters for over 3 yrs. My grandfather Raffaele Luigi Lepore was born in Pacentro in 1848, he was one of 6 children, the others were Antonio Lepore born 1845, Vincenzo Lepore born 1858, Carolina Lepore born 1851 and Nicola who died early & Filomena Rita Lepore born 1855, she married Nicodemo Crescenzo Gaetano Tollis in 1879. If anyone knows of these people please contact me. I have the indices for birth, marriage & death in Pacentro for the years 1809 to 1865. If I can help you I will be glad to. Gloria
